New Draft Fireproofing Regulatory Framework for Electronic Products

Currently the Chinese Ministry of Public Security's Fire Department is preparing a draft set of mandatory standards for a wide range of electronics, including IT equipment, white goods and large appliances which are installed in buildings.

Although voluntary standards do exist for fireproofing, this is a new area of regulation for the Chinese government that gives fire safety authorities the right to potentially test and certify products outside of the range of products for the CCC-F (fire) mark, which at this point only include actual fireproofing devices such as fire hoses, spigots, extinguishers, etc.

This new regulatory framework will affect a rather large number of companies such as manufacturers of air conditioners, refrigerators, white goods and appliances.

Quality Partnerships will keep up with the developments and inform their clients accordingly.
