Name Plate Information

In order to enter the Chinese market successfully, both imported and domestically produced products should bear the correct name plate.

Based on the relevant provisions issued by the Technical Supervision Bureau (Ji Jian Ju Jian Fa [1997] no. 172) information on name plate in China shall include:

  • the name of the Product in Chinese,
  • the trademark,
  • the factory name and address ,
  • the name and address in China of one of the agent, vendor, or importer,
  • the technical information of the product, (model number, voltage, frequency, current, power consumption for each function and in total, volume, weight, size, etc.),
  • the marks of related certifications,
  • additional requirements where needed and appropriate, e.g. production date, bar code etc.

The nameplate should be in Chinese only; if anything is written in English, there should be a full Chinese translation next to it.
